10 Ways to Repurpose Your Content

So….you are a coach and not a social media marketer….

Marketing was something that I was not expecting when I enrolled myself through the coaching certification program. My thinking was to get certified and start working as a coach and I love helping people overcome obstacles they have in life. But little did I know, A HUGE part of being a coach requires you to get out there and market your services.

This, my friend, is marketing!

SKILL #1 EVERY COACH NEEDS IS LEARNING HOW TO WRITE!

You don’t have to be a writer but if you are going to do what they said to “SHOW UP every day”, the more important question is “WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO SHOW UP WITH, my friend?” The BIGGEST MISTAKE I see coaches make is to give up on creating their own content for their business. While content creation is not the line of work you have signed up to do, creating your content makes your business a whole lot more authentic and approachable. When it comes to one on one service, your target audience is looking to connect with the person behind the business.

Coaching is a personal service. Creating your own content piece that speaks the values, integrity, and mission behind your business is valuable to building your audience's trust is crucial!

“Whatever it is, the way you tell your story will make all the difference. Tell it Confidently and Courageously.”

-Michelle Kuei

If you are a solopreneur who just starting out your business, chances are you don’t have a team of people behind you to perform many of the administrative tasks for you. While you may have a list of ideas and topics you would like to share with your audience, finding the time to sit down and produce them can be daunting.

So here are some ways you can repurpose from a single piece of content you have created. This saves you tons of time and energy to come up with more things to nurture your audience, stay visible, and be relevant in your niche.

Start With What Is Easy

Everyone learns differently. Some learn better with video, others learn better with text. What feels like the easiest task to you? I personally enjoy live videos. These types of content often do not require a whole lot of post-production editing. What is done is done. If you are someone who feels comfortable on camera and knows a few things about doing video, Video content may be a great way to share your content.

If your audience can’t SEE you, they can’t see your brand, which also translates to “no lead, no business!"

Podcast and Transcribe

Streaming on Facebook, Youtube via streaming software like Zoom or Streamyard provides you with lots of benefits and offers different ways that make you're repurposing easy. Once you have the video created, grab your audio from this live and edit it into a podcast episode. Another added bonus to having the audio version of your content is to transcribe the episode and turn your audio into a text format that would allow you to repurpose again into episode notes or a blog post.

Long-Form Blog Post

Personally, I believe a blog is your best evergreen content and probably the most valuable asset in your business. A blog post can be reshared years from now and as long as you are within the same industry, they will never go bad. Once you have the video or audio transcribed, repurpose the transcription into content that can be reshared in a blog post format.

Create Quotes and Graphic

After you have done creating your long-form content, now it is time to take out pieces of this long-form content and repurpose them into smaller bite-size chunks. You can do so by creating quotes for your social media, tips, and infographics you share in newsletters or printed copies.

“When these ideas of self-doubt, worries, lack of self-esteem comes in, we can then address them to either adapt to the system or revamp the whole system and start new.”

-Michelle Kuei
