Why you need To Set Your Social Media Goal For Coaching Business

Marketing for your coaching business is a daunting task.

A key part of using social media to build your coaching business is setting targeted goals and developing your social media strategy with a clear direction of how to leverage it. your social media presence comes with a reason why your business is using it.

While many coaches around this time of the year talk about setting up goals for life and business, rarely do coaches have a look at their social media goals.

Winging it with non-targeted content for your coaching business is often wasted time and money.

Taking the time to identify a clear goal will help you get the most out of social media and make your marketing strategy less of a hassle and more enjoyable.

When you set goals, something inside of you starts saying, "Let's go, let's go," and ceilings start to move up.

5 Benefits of Social Media Goals

Setting up your social media goals comes with several benefits, I’ve broken these benefits down into SMART goals for you:

  1. Specific outcomes to focus on your social media marketing effort.

  2. Measurable metrics that allows you to track the inbound traffic that comes to your website.

  3. Assessing your marketing strategy and turning them into actionable and achievable steps throughout the year

  4. Remain relevant within your niche

  5. Time-oriented.

I've been using a 90 Day Goal Setting System since the year I started my business. I recently facilitated a live training in my private Facebook community The Visibility Confidence Lounge: Storybranding for Women Coaches in Biz and talked about using this method to set up business goals for 2022 with all the women coaches in this community. The 90-day Goal Setting is not a new concept but new coaches rarely talk about it. Most of the time you hear SMART goals but the downside of having a SMART goal is you can easily get overwhelmed when you have multiple projects and tasks need to complete.

How to set up your Social Media Quarterly Goals

Here's how I set up my business goals:

💡 Start with your annual goals. What do you want to accomplish on social media? List your top 3 goals you would like to complete within the focus year. Think of the big picture of you and your business. What would you like to have done in your business? Be realistic.

💡 From your annual goal come up with your quarterly goals as well as your monthly goals. Break down each of your annual goals into bite-size for each quarter. What needs to happen and numbers you would like to track and measure. Before you add a new goal to your list, think about whether this will accelerate your path to success or will it slow you down?

💡 From your monthly goals break down into your weekly goal and finally your daily tasks. Break them down further into smaller daily tasks. These are the smaller steps that you can take to accomplish the bigger picture.

💡 Work on your goals 90 days at a time. If it is not on your list, they are considered as “nice to have”. Keep them in a separate list and when you have time after accomplishing the major goals, then you can circle back to them and work on them later.

Set up A Destination. Do Everything in your power to get there.

And Get there!
