The syllabus

The class your certification skipped.

Five units. Every coaching business gets stuck in one of them, and most coaches spend a year working on the wrong one. Find the sentence that sounds like you and start there.

Take the placement test
1 Unit 01 Stranger

"Nobody knows I exist."

By the end of this unit: you can say who you help in one sentence, and it sounds like a person rather than a category.

Required reading

2 Unit 02 Follower

"People follow me and never reach out."

By the end of this unit: your content gives someone a reason to message you, instead of a reason to nod and scroll.

Required reading

3 Unit 03 Lead

"They download the freebie and disappear."

By the end of this unit: the people on your list know what you actually sell, and hear from you before you need something.

Required reading

4 Unit 04 Client

"I get on calls and they don't turn into clients."

By the end of this unit: you can name your price out loud without apologizing for it, and the call ends with a decision either way.

Required reading

5 Unit 05 Repeat

"Every month starts back at zero."

By the end of this unit: you have a system that keeps running on the weeks you are busy, tired, or away.

Read

The coaching business blog.

Step by step articles on niche clarity, messaging, offers, and the parts of a coaching business nobody taught you.

How to find your real coaching niche

Most coaches think they have a niche problem. They actually have a naming problem. A ten-minute exercise to find the niche already hiding in your story.

Why problems alone don't sell your coaching

I sat through a sales call that spent twenty minutes on my pain and never once explained how the program solved it. Here's what to do instead.

Wanting money doesn't make you a greedy coach

Most coaches were taught that if you were truly of service, the money would just show up while you stayed humble and quiet about it. That's the wrong story.

What it actually costs to build a coaching business

A bonfire needs you to keep throwing wood on it. A business runs on the days you can't. Most coaches are running a bonfire and calling it a business.

If you'd rather just have the thing

Two tools. Each one leaves you with something.

These are not courses. You do not finish them with notes, you finish with a page you can use on Monday. Both cheaper than a program, both usable this week, and neither one needs me in the room.

The Niche & Avatar Builder

You have tried to figure out your niche by thinking about it. Sitting with a notebook, or in the shower, or driving. And every time you sit down, you start over.

That is not a focus problem. The decision has too many parts to hold in your head at once. Who she is, what she is struggling with, what it is costing her, what you actually do about it. You get three of them lined up and the fourth falls out.

Getting it out of your head is the whole job.

Thirteen questions, asked in an order that builds on itself. You answer, it reads what you wrote, and when the answer is vague it asks again. Write "she lacks confidence" and it comes back and asks what that is actually costing her.

The page you end up with is not a worksheet you file away. It is the input to everything else. Every post, every email, every sales page, every call starts from it.

One makes the page. The other turns it into 90 days of posts.

The Visible 90

You have tried to post consistently. Two good weeks, then a busy week hits and it stops. Then you feel bad about it, and starting again costs more than it should.

That is not a discipline problem. You are making the decision fresh every single morning. What do I post today, does it sound too salesy, is anyone even reading this. Deciding costs more than posting does, and you run out of deciding before you run out of days.

Decide once a month. Then just execute.

Ninety minutes at the start of the quarter and the next 90 days are already decided. You sit down on a Tuesday, open the page, and the only question left is whether you do it.

It is undated on purpose. Same file next quarter, and the one after that. You are not buying 90 days, you are buying a way of planning them.

The newsletter

One step you can finish today.

You are already subscribed to more newsletters than you read. Not because you stopped caring. Because most of them hand you something to think about, and thinking is not what you are short on.

You have the notes. You have the saved posts. You have the folder you meant to come back to.

What you are short on is finished things.

When reading isn't the thing anymore

Want me to look at your business and tell you what to do next?

Everything on this page is free and it works. But at some point you stop needing more information and start needing someone to look at your actual business.

  • What you're doing now to get visible, and what it's producing
  • What's stopping people from saying yes
  • The simplest next step, in order

Forty-five minutes. You'll leave with a plan whether we work together or not.
