Stay Focus to stay on track

A few weeks ago, I was asked to be on a committee for a big event planning at the Women’s Club I belong to as a member. I contribute to the team by focusing on marketing and promoting the event for the club. We all have these type of experiences before where life is busy as it is, but the Universe never shy away from handing us more responsibilities and challenges. Don’t get me wrong, I love working on the event planning and I love contributing to the team. The best analogy I can come up with is “Eating at a Buffet”, we don’t know how much we have until we noticed we are beyond our full capacity.

I woke up this morning feeling overwhelmed by my list of things to do. I sat in front of the computer, wanting to begin writing my speech for an August women empowerment event in Michigan. I also realized I need to update my Academy with an article for this week, in the meantime, I also need to work on the mastermind group module and of course, I have a family member coming over this weekend to stay with us. There’s also the event planning and follow up, and I need to reach out to reserve a space for my monthly event. My list went on and on.¬†Luckily, I had a scheduled session with my Coach, so I called her and this is what we had worked on this morning.

By the end of my session, I realized how powerful I am.

All of us only have 24 hours in a day, but every one of us has a purpose, we have a talent, a thing that no one else can do as good as we do. We have a gift. This gift was given to us and it is our job to share that gift to the rest of the world. What you do, how you do and who is doing it matters. And while doing these in the limited time that we have on this earth, we need to stop and ask ourselves what are our values and how is what we are doing in alignment with our values?

Looking into your current situation, what values do you have at this moment while doing these things?  How are they in alignment with who you say you are? Do they honor your integrity, your authenticity, your contribution or your passion? What would you like to do to bring back those values and still find enjoyment in doing them?

I am a human. And just like everybody I only have 24 hours in a day. Sure, I am better than average American at time management. Heck! I even gave a class on teaching my clients how to manage their time more effectively. But when it comes to living our daily lives, it is not just knowing which time slot to plug in doing what, it is about who is behind those tasks and how do we do these tasks. We need to talk about values, we need to talk about our limiting beliefs, we need to talk about how are we interpreting the challenge that is in front of us. We need a Coach! We need to call upon our inner Coach, our inner guru on stepping out to guide us in the direction we ought to be on and the path we need to take. We need some post signs that tell us we are on the right track!

By the end of this morning’s session, my Coach partnered up with me and helped me come up with a plan I have for the rest of the week until I speak to her again next week. There are so many great things I want for my life and there is not a single day I do not dream about when I am launching full time with my own business, having a steady flow of clients and truly becoming in control of my own life. There are so many great things that I know I deserve to have because I have come a long way to be here. And in order to do that, I too need help. I too need to call upon that inner Coach of mine to remind myself

“Hey! Let’s check your rearview mirror real quick!”

Sometimes, the best way to keep going is to stop, check our surrounding so we can stay focus to stay on track.

Warmly,
